  • My name is Tina and I'm a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with over 15 years' experience. I specialise in neurological and motor development, and sensory integration therapy in babies and young children. As a mother of two young children, I understand the joys and challenges of parenthood. I am passionate about working with babies and helping parents build a calm and confident bond with their baby.

BABY HANDLING

  • During the first year of life, your baby's body movements and bonding with you are essential for the development their motor skills and cognition. This period is characterised by your baby's remarkable ability to absorb, learn and progress quickly. That's where Baby Handling comes in - a technique that involves handling your baby correctly and encouraging active participation in everyday activities such as lifting, holding, changing dipper and more. It also involves bonding between you and your baby, which is beneficial for cognitive development. The baby handling technique allows your baby to develop correct movement patterns and promotes healthy motor and cognitive development. Does your baby have some developmental problems or delays, such as not yet sitting, rolling or crawling? I was lucky to get connected to Tina, who came home to our house several times during our son’s first year and showed us not only age appropriate toys (and the valuable lesson that less is more), and for children’s appliances she helped us how to choose the right car seat for our son at his age and size and helped us how to adjust our high chair properly. What I found really helpful was how she taught us exercises for our son to support his physical development; more specifically how to roll, how to crawl and how to sit and many other things.
